artist bio
Bronte Whittle is an emerging artist working on Gadigal land/Sydney. Her practice is primarily in painting. Her studio practice revolves around creating dreamlike landscapes. The curving forms are derived from observations and memories within the natural landscape, on walks or in transit, by the coastline or in suburbia and translated into something unfamiliar. In addition to her abstract landscapes, Bronte also works en plein air, painting from life and immersing herself in the environment.
Bronte completed her Bachelor of Fine Art from National Art School in 2023 and was awarded the 2024 AACI placement at Ernabella Arts, APY Lands. She was a finalist in the Harden Art Prize (2024).
